Native Sun – Tummy Friends Tee

Native Sun – Tummy Friends Tee

Here’s a fun tee-shirt project I worked on a while back at The Robin Shepherd Group for Native Sun Natural Foods Market. The goal was to create a few shirt designs for their staff that would reflect the friendly atmosphere of Native Sun as well as convey the benifits of choosing natural foods. Though the shirt was never produced, it was still a heap-ton of fun to work on… hope you enjoy!

Halftone Def featured in Void Magazine

Halftone Def featured in Void Magazine

So stoked to see a good surfing publication coming out of North Florida. It’s one thing to have rad idea over a burrito and beers, and another thing completely to make it happen… the boys over at surfjaxpeir.com have a knack for the latter. In May, 2010, the much anticipated first issue of Void Magazine hit North Florida like a rouge wave… 40 pages of glossy bliss covering music, skating, art, surfing, and everything else that is local beach culture. Halftone Def was lucky enough to invade a spread with a few posters designs and some complete randomness about their studio/bathroom habits. Big ups to Tye, Aaron & the VOID crew for including Halftone Def in the first issue, and filling the coverage gaps with their fine magazine.

Be sure to keep an eye out for issue number 2, due out later this month!

Rhett & Link – Mythical Carpet

Rhett & Link – Magic Rugs

Here’s a fun one I worked on recently with the super talented internetainers Rhett & Link. Not long ago, the duo relocated to a new studio in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, and were looking to do a bit of decorating to make their new digs feel like home. If you’re even vaguely familiar with the comedy duo, you know that a couple of couches and a fresh coat of paint weren’t going to be enough. Yes, that’s right, I’m talking about Mythical Carpets, the single item that no internetainment studio should be without.

Although I had never designed a Mythical Carpet before, the boys assured me that if I handled the design part, they’d take care of “the Mythicalness” (something about a guy named “Unicorn Steve” down at the flea market, I dunno). So after a quick meeting and some back’n’forth with Unicorn Steve, the two Mythical Carpets pictured above were born, along with a brief & highly entertaining demo video.

Big thanks to both Rhett & Link for making this thing called work waaaay too much fun. Hope you enjoy…
